2019 Mentees


Ahcene Ouldsaada is a rising junior at Miami University. He worked with Shiraz on
Resume-building and Interviewing skills, and learned about Market dynamics with a focus on option valuation strategies and techniques. Received a summer internship with the French Bank Societe Generale in New York City.


Shayan Khan is rising sophomore at Columbia University. His mentor, Maeshal Abid, has extensive experience on Wall Street, and worked with Shayan on developing his soft skills when interviewing and networking for finance opportunities. As a result, Shayan secured a summer internship for Northwestern Mutual in their Wealth Management division.


Issa Zahrieh is a junior at Stuyvesant High School. He met his mentor, Wissam Hamou, at one of the Bridge program workshops and stayed in touch with him regarding internship opportunities in the field of medicine. Through his connections, Wissam helped Issa secure a summer internship at Mt. Sinai hospital in Manhattan.


Ismail Chadury is a freshman at the Expeditionary Learning School for Community Leaders. He is interested in pursuing careers in media and was able to connect with Dean Obeidallah through the Bridge program. Dean hosts weekly radio show on Sirius XM and has agreed to let Ismail work with him for studio sessions in order to get a better understanding of the production side of media. He will begin attending recordings of The Dean Obeidallah Show at Sirius XM this summer.


Ibrahim Zaheer is a freshman at the Expeditionary Learning School for
Community Leaders. He is looking to gain experience in the Nonprofit/Civil Activism space and wants to focus on developing his project management skills. He recently connected with a Bridge workshop guest speaker, Ahmed Mohamed, who is CAIR NY’s Litigation Director. Ahmed will be putting together a surveillance project this summer and has agreed to make Ibrahim part of the project management team.


Maryam Chadury is a rising sophomore at Brooklyn College. Her dream is to work at the Metropolitan Museum of Art as a Graphic Designer. She is looking to build her network with individuals in the Arts and Museum space in order to set herself up for future success. She recently connected with Sangeetha Kowsik, who has worked as a creative design consultant for various fashion and artistic brands in New York including the Met. Sangeetha was also formerly the Senior Designer for Textiles and Home Décor for the Met, and will be helping Maryam learn more about the space by networking with her Met contacts and working on graphic design projects this summer at her firm, Closeknit.


Iqra Tayee is a rising freshman at Baruch College. Iqra is interested in pursuing a career in International Relations and Business. She connected with a guest speaker at one of our recent workshops who serves as the UN foreign affairs correspondent for Anadolu Agency. The guest speaker, Betul Yuruk, has promised to work with Iqra this summer on a few shadowing opportunities. Iqra will be attending UN press room events and will be able to interact with prominent UN officials and politicians.


Farhan Kazi is a rising junior at Rutgers University. He will be interning at Cowen Company this summer, and has recently sought out advice from the Bridge Program with regards to charting a successful career that combines his dual interests of Finance and Medicine. He will also be speaking with a colleague of Shiraz’s who was an Analyst at UBS’s Healthcare Investment Banking program.
