Muslim Community Network believes in the power of the community to advocate for its own rights and interests and emphasizes self-determination and informed participation in the processes and systems that impact the day-to-day lives of all New Yorkers.
MCN offers Community Education Workshops that provide community members with the tools to create positive change, develop personal and professional skills to advance the quality of life of their families, and advocate for a more just society where the rights of all are respected and realized. Through these workshops community members are connected to activists, academics, entrepreneurs, and elected officials who share their expertise and best practices cultivated from years of experience. Previous workshop topics have included the Muslim Women’s Leadership Workshop, Strengthening Muslim Families Through Child Welfare Partnerships, How to Work for City Hall, How to be a Green Muslim: A Family Workshop on Islam and the Environment, and many others.
