[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]On June 23, 2015 Muslim Community Network graduated 26 students of the 4th cohort from our Muslim Youth NYC Youth Leadership Development program. The iftar was attended by students, parents and members of the community. This year, the program was offered at Alnoor School and Claremont International High School. Students were taught how to assess a problem and work towards creating a positive change in their community around issues they felt passionate about. They created measurable, practical and effective action plans on issues such as bullying, domestic violence, racism, alcoholism and more.

As part of the program, guests were asked to disagree and agree on statements on reality of bullying, racism and moral responsibility. The activity opened up an honest and thought provoking discussion where diverse perspectives were shared. At the end, when asked how they felt, one mother said, “Hope. I know these kids will be okay”. We are so proud of our graduates and look forward to seeing them thrive and develop into change-makers, leading the way to a prosperous and more inclusive future for everyone. Congratulations!  Here are some photos from the event. More photos and videos to come![/vc_column_text][vc_media_grid element_width=”3″ gap=”20″ grid_id=”vc_gid:1522410422639-2e0b372f-5f00-3″ include=”9921,9922,9923,9924,9925,9926,9927,9928,9929,9930,9931,9932″][/vc_column][/vc_row]
